Not sure what information you are looking for but one of my dogs who has since passed away ruptured his left ACL. I opted for my vet to perform surgery on the ligament which she did. She used sterile fishing line to figure 8 the joint and actually made it stronger than what occurs in nature. Consequently she also told me there was going to be the risk within a year of him rupturing his right ACL...which he did so almost a year to the day. Again I opted for the surgery which both times required a 6-8 week recovery period of strictly being on the leash with no running and jumping and then a few months rehab after that. Hope this helps some.

Too tore her ACL and was scheduled for surgery. The surgeon reviewed her health history and since she had a serious heart condition (sub-aortic stenosis) felt it was better to try to let it heal "naturally". She was leash walked, given pain meds, and put under "house arrest" for several months. Once she resumed normal activity she never had any problems (despite her heart problem, Too had two speeds - faster and fastest). She was a horrible heart patient and keeping her under house arrest was difficult on both of us.

We were just diagnosed yesterday with a anterior cruciate ligament rupture and were recommended to have a TTA surgical procedure.
