Right before the eye is the bump. It goes across the top of his head about a half an inch

It is somewhat common for chameleons to get infections in their nasal passages. Many times they turn into abcesses and have to be removed. He also look to have a resp. infection. I suggest taking him to a quality reptile vet ASAP or you will most likely loose him.

Just by curiousity, what makes you think that he has a resp. infection? Is it because of the bump?

thanks!

Sometimes chameleons will get a resp. infection in conjuction with the other infection. But, what actually made me think so is that in the picture the chameleon looks like he is blowing out the side of his "chin" as well as the bottom. Usually in a agressive or mating response they will blow out their "chin". But, it will appear much flatter and just go straight down. Where as in a resp. infection they will blow the sides out as well....to some degree......usually the more pronounce it is the more severe the resp. infection. He doesn't appear too bad in the pic, but I have no idea at what point in time the pic was taken so it is hard to really tell. I could be completely wrong, but it does appear so.
