I forgot one ? about Adequan. since this is an intermuscular injection. and if your dog has both hips bothering her. dose this mean she would need an injection for both hips at the same time?

Our black lab, Sasha, will be 13 in November. While she is in great spirits, she has struggled with arthritus in both of her back legs/hips. We currently have her on a pain management program of Metacam and Adequan. To answer your second question, 1 shot will work for the entire back-end. Your first question, we began giving her adequan over a year ago. We started with a shot every 8 weeks. We are now giving her a shot every 2 weeks. She's shows significant improvement after every shot.

Hi Thanks for the reply. Lace My 13 yr old lab Has just finished with the 4 week program of 2 shots of Adequan a week. the vet now wants to give her 1 shot a week for I dont know how long then go down too 1 shot 2weeks and so on. he said it would also be ok to give her the Deramaxx as well. I asked because it seems her shoulders are still quite stiff in movement and I can tell when she is uncomfortable, You can see it in her eyes.(Poor Baby)Hey who said getting old was any fun HA! Well I am very pleased with the results we have seen on Lace. I may never be able to walk her again. but she can get herslf up and follow me around the house like she used to. she even chased a cat out of the yard the other day. not bad, for one crazy moment she thought she could go up the stairs, that ended half way up and I had to carry her back end down. Nutty pup. can I ask what is Metacam?
