This is a supposed Beagle/Am Staff (or pit) mix. That looks right to me, but I was wondering if anyone else had any other ideas. I fell in love with her picture, and I'm thinking of adopting her.
Thanks,
-Sam

If it's a shelter putting that breed label on the dog, it may mean little or nothing. If they actually know the breeds of the dog's parents, that's much better information. I don't think I'd choose a dog who was crossed between hound and terrier, two types of dogs who are bred to act independently rather than follow human direction. Could be hard to handle.

I grew up around Beagles, so I know how to handle them. I've delt with pits/am staffs, and honestly, the most obedient dog I ever delt with with was a pit.
actually Sqwee you are correct, the breed most people label as the most obedient (if they actually know the breed) is the staffy bull, but the whole group of bull and terriers are very affectionate and obedient, the only time trouble arises is when people let them dominate, otherwise they are a go anywhere do anything dog.
I recomend going to the shelter(or wherever she is) and checking the dog out, just remember a dog that looks like that and if she has the personality to match wont last long.
let us know what you deside.
Well, I'm can't seem to convince my fiance that we can handle a dog. She says our place is too small, but I don't think it is at all. Any suggestions on how to handle that part?
Getting a dog should be a mutual decision between you and your fiance. With my husband, I listened to his side ("I'm allergic, honey. I'm just allergic, that's all there is to it."
. Then he listened to my side ("Too freakin' bad!"
Just kidding, if your fiance is dead set against it, don't do it because it could easily end up with him making you choose him or the dog, with the dog ending up in a shelter again, or the dog being put in the back yard alone for the rest of his life. If space is your only problem, though, you can always take the dog to a dog park or go for long walks. The dog is adorable, and what a great combination of breeds. Hope all goes well!
