Sick dog

I have a 3.5yo boxer lab mix who has been vomiting right after eating for the last month or so. We went to the vet and talked about possible infammatory bowel and megaesophagus and we put him on rice and beef with pepcid. Neither of the diagnoses now seems plausible and he is still vomiting on the rice. Sometimes for no reason, but we have found that if we feed him no more than a cup at a time he usually doesn't throw up. (We also have the new puppy, she is perfectly healthy and up to date on vaccs.) He has also been slightly lethargic, his pooping has been sporadic and few,he has been refusing water off and on, and today his face swelled up like a beach ball. (the facial swelling may or may not be related, he has a history of allergic reactions and swelling) Our vet is now running bloodwork and considering that he doesn't think he will find anything, but also does not believe he has an intestinal blockage, I am wondering if we are on the right track with diagnosing and treating. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
