mounting

amapri993 Jun 07, 2006 01:04 PM

My spayed female chi may be going to a home with a not-fixed boy daschund (sp?)
Last night they were playing and he was trying to mount her. Will this hurt her if he goes in her? Is this a bad situation for her?

Thanks-

Mounting of other dogs should always be dicouraged. It's extremely rude and it can hurt other dogs physically as well as behaviorally.

If I ever see this, I walk between the two and break it up. I don't use words or my hands, I use actions. I do this EVERY time a dog tries to mount another. Supervise and don't let it become a habit. The female should start getting the confidence ot deal wit hthis herself after a while. No dog should put up with this.
