I'm only new to the forum..thought i'd share some pics of my 2 poochies

Scooby Doo (M ~ Black and Tan)is just over 6...i've had him since he was 12 weeks old...he came from an abusive home..he was agressive (fear biting) and not very nice...but obdience and much TLC have made him a great dog....still can be somewhat unpredicatable with strangers....but once he gets to know em alls good....excellent guard dog

Tigger Doo (F ~ Brindle) Is nearly 2 yrs..also from an abusive home, I've only had her for around 6 mnths so still working on her non trusting nature and obedience

You're dogs are beautiful and thank you for rescuing two dogs from abusive situations and giving them what they need.

Hi, and welcome to the forum. What handsome looking dogs. I think it's wonderful that you gave these dogs a home and a second chance at life.

Welcome!!! What great dogs you have. It's nice to see them come around from such tough starts. Keep up the good work.

Good for you for rescuing! Both my dogs are rescues, and I don't think there are any better dogs out there. I think they know what you did for them. And what a neat mix of breeds, too. Growing up, our neighbors had about a million rottweilers running loose, and once they got to know us they protected our yard just like their own, and if a car drove by all those dogs would run over to us and stand between the car and us so we'd be safe. Very sweet dogs. Hope all goes well with them!

If you had you're older dog since he was 12 weeks and he grew to be a fear biter, there is a chance it wasn't a result of his first home - but rather an inherited problem personality.

Which is even MORE of a testatment to your care, because dogs that are BORN problems are even HARDER to habilitate than dogs who've been abused and need to be rehabilitated.

They're both beautiful dogs.
Thanks for posting the pics!

Scooby didn't grow into one....he was a fear biter when we got him as a pup...no social skills at all and terrified if you made any sudden movements (usually resulting in him coming at you teeth bared)

He was a nightmare, at his first obedience class he launched himself at anything and everything if it got in what he classes as his comfort zone...a pretty scary sight in a large pup, that would end up a very large dog.

He thrived in obedience...loved the other dogs...and most people could handle him...

But the obedience and TLC made him a much nicer dog...while he will never trust everyone...he's my baby and i love him to bits....i've learned to read his body language and can nip anything in the bud before something negative results thankfully...and the obedience work helps tremendeouly there

I can vouch that obedience works...and every dog should be put through at least the basics...wether you have a toy breed or a giant breed
