my new JR pup is doing great, but seems to have some dry skin issues. He scratches a lot and has just a little dandruff. Any ideas on what to do for the lil guy?

Better see the vet. Some forms of mange are contagious to humans.

well it turns out he just likes to itch. We went to our first vet appointment and the only thing wrong with ol Scott is he had round worms.
Thanks for all the help.
I highly doubt that it's mange. He may not be used to his collar yet and that's why he's itching. I would say wether he has dry skin or not, give him a soothing oatmeal bath (oatmeal sooths the skin) you can buy some great dog shampoo's with oatmeal in there...might find that helps alot. never know what he's got on his coat making him itchy, dirty from the yard..anything!!
Good luck & congrats on the pup.
