Alley is going on nine and is showing signs of arthritis. The vet recomended trying cosequin. She said we could try the glusomine supplement bought from the drugstore and try it.I was wondering if anyone had experience with trying the on the shelf vs cosequin? Thanks!

None with that, but I give my 8 1/2 y/o girl glucosamine and chondroitin and she goes up and down the stairs like she's a puppy.

I have used SynoviG3 with MSM for one of my Shiba's for about 3 years now and he seems to be doing fairly well with it. If you decide to go with a store bought glucosimine buy it from a health food store and not the junk like Walmart sells. Whatever you decide the supplement is a natural supplement so it takes time to be beneficial to your dogs health but he will be better off with it than without it.

I used Cosequin with my dog who had osteoarthritis in the hips, and it did a wonderful job for him. I was not willing to risk that a generic would work. He deserved the proven brand. I sure don't regret it.

Check with your veterinarian on dosing. They get a double dose at first, I forget for how long.
