Advice on beagle outside

reedjholmes Aug 12, 2006 10:11 AM

Hi there,

I am soon going to be a new beagle owner and I'm trying to figure out whether I can create an area where I can let the dog out on his own for short periods of time.

Specifically, I have a large deck in the back of my house. I could easily close it off so the beagle could not get out.

Would this work?

Make sure it's very high, where the dog can't jump or climb it. My beagle can easily leap over a 3' baby gate, and climb out of the 4' exercise pen. Tricky little dogs, beagles are.
