ok....i have spent the day researching and still do not kow what to do ...heres the deal..my wife is a HUGE dog lover...loves huskys, also has mentioned shiba inus...she has been asking me to get one for over 3 years now...we live in a house and have a decent size yard, and a fenced in pool area...BUT we work alot...work at the same job and when its busy we leave the house at 7 am and dont return until 6-7pm...when its not busy we leave around 8:30 am and get home around 5pm....i was thinking i could get a 1-2 year old dog which was "trained" but im not sure on whether it could "live" outside...dont want to mess up the interior of the house....maybe in the garage? or the fenced in pool area? would a husky be ok? or a shiba or if nither then what if anything? i could bring it to a doggy day care or hire someone to come see it when needed? IS THERE ANY WAY FOR MY WIFE TO HAVE AN OPPORUTNITY TO HAVE A DOG? OR IS IT HOPELESS?

You could do it but the only issue is were the dog would stay while you are gone. I am often gone for at least twelve hours but thankfully I can usually ahve soemone stop adn let the dogs out at least once. My dogs are crated when I am gone. I don't trust leaving them outside. Even with a run my husky can climb out of anyhting Is your garage kept the same temp as your house? I think the best bet would be to get a dog that is a couple of years old and crate while you are gone. If you think the time you are gone is to long for that particular pup maybe you can hire a neighbor to check in once a day.

my garage stays pretty cool in the summer...i am about to research how much oney it would be to hire a person to come check in once a day ...from what i read they need to run around and exercise...is keeping it in a crate preventing that?
