is this an american pitbull metiss?!

elisse Aug 19, 2006 08:08 AM

I found this puppy and his vet told me that this baby should get aggressive as he is a mixed ampit.
I have no clue about the looks of an ampit puppy...but I think this doesn't seem to be a pitbull, in my opinion.
Pls. let me know your opinion. At least I would be aware to give him a very strict education.
Thank you!

It's sometimes hard to tell from pictures and without seeing the dog in person... but I'm not seeing any APBT in that face. Even if there were an APBT mix in there... with a fairly firm hand the dog can be quite obedient.

A shortish muzzle is the only possibility that I see, but I agree-- no AMPB thre!

Oh blah. Pit bulls are some of the sweetest dogs out there. Am Staffs are pretty much just a show version. Don't worry about the puppy. Your vet is probably either going by a bad experience he had with an idividual and is taking it out on all "pit bull" breeds, or by something he heard from a friend's friend's step- neighbor in-law. It's crap. I bet your little puppy is sweet as can be, and will stay that way. That said, from the picture I almost wouldn't even say she's got much pit bull/am staff in her. Something about her face and ears just says corgi to me somehow. ??

I have owned many pitbulls and mixes there of in the past 30 years. I have also worked in intake at HS here. Where we have to identify dog breeds. I do not see any pit in your cute little pup. I think Corgi JRT mix is more like it.
