Tank dividers?

xelda Oct 09, 2003 11:55 PM

After having my first baby leo escape from a shoebox, I think I'm going to stop with the shoeboxes for awhile and aim for a more secure way to house them. I only have three eggs I'm expecting to hatch soon. I was thinking of taking a 20L and putting in two dividers so that each hatchling could get her own section. I already have an ultratherm heatpad that would run along the back of the tank. Then when the hatchlings grow bigger, I want to remove the dividers and house them all together in the same tank. They are all being temped for females.

My question is: How do I go about installing dividers, especially if I want them to be temporary?

woooooo whooooo......i like building stuff, now this sounds easy, here we go as how i would do it,1st you need a hot glue gun and 8-12 L shaped brackets.probly cheaper to do plexi-glass but i dont know if you can get colored as they will see each other but anyways, its real easy 10min max on the tank just glue the brackets next to each other with like a half inch gap between them so the glass or wood can slide into it.do 4 per divider so there is 2 on top 2 on bottom kind of like this ][.

then just do the same on the other side and the tank is broken into 3 parts then when you want it out the glued in brackets with a good pull will lift off causing no harm to the glass.

i made a custom top for a breeder tank and used the brackets as a place for the top to rest so i know the glue sticks to glass and removes easily
