any tips for nail grooming?

rudeguy Aug 27, 2006 10:22 AM

Hello all. I need some help. I need to trim my JRT's nails but he absolutely won't let me. This is the only time he has ever tried to bite.

Please help.

One option is to have someone else distract him while you work, them starting on treats BEFORE he tries to bite, and continuing tiny treats the whole time. Another option is to take him to a vet or groomer for toenail trims. Some dogs do better with a grinder than a clipper. And many dogs who don't do well with clipping do fine with filing.
