I was wondering how do you tell what side is hot on the extension cord after you cut it.Is it the small prong that is the hot? Thanks for your responses before. Steve

It doesn't matter which you attach to where. Basically on those fixtures all your creating is an electrical loop. (At least thats what mine were like)
