Looking for pup

Cmh61982 Aug 30, 2006 12:48 PM

Hi I am looking for a female dachshund perferably a longhair, A mix is fine as well. I currently have a dachshund/pekinese mix who is 14 years old and a wonderful dog. I really love the dachshund breed and she is now lonely since our other dog died recently. I know they are expensive but I really would like to find one under $200.00. Pepper we got for $30 but again that was 14 years ago. If anyone could please help me locate an inexpensive pup I would greatly apprecitate it and so would Pepper.

Thank you,
Christina

Have you considered an older rescue? www.petfinder.com would be the place I'd look to find a rescue available. Otherwise I'd find a very reputable breeder and expect to pay more than $200 for a puppy. Trust me, sometimes the "bargain" puppy ends up costing a whole lot more than a purebred from a great breeder due to the potential health issues breeds have.

Hi! Sorry to hear of the loss of your baby.
Do a Google search for Kyler Laird, and you'll get a great page of breed rescue sites as well as dog pounds and rescue sites by state. The Dachshund Rescue association called DCA is something else you could look up. I've adopted two older Dachshunds and I haven't regretted it. No puppy training, they already know it all! Please consider adopting an adult dog from someplace. It'll be so loving and appreciative!
