Raw meat diet for puppies

k9lover Sep 24, 2006 02:06 PM

I have a 4 month old, 7 pound puppy and I want to start adding some raw meat to her diet. What I want to know is: What kind of raw meat to give her, how often to give it and how much at a time. Thank you

Any kind of raw meat is good as long as it's clean and from a good source- human-grade, in other words. Bones are good, find some that are 50% or more bone. I used chicken wings and necks, those were good. Pig neck bones too, and if you don't mind spending a little more any kind of ribs are good- you'll lose your puppy for a while because those things take forever. Give her as much as she'll eat. She'll stop when she's full. Eventually you'll figure out how much to give at each meal.

home of old lady Lucy (boxer/lab/garbage disposal), pretty girl Fancy (beagle), the rats- Chopin, Tchaikovsky, Pachebel, Fillmore, and Norbert, and the mice- Vivaldi, Brahms, Schubert, Bartok, Rasputin, Chaminade, Rosa, Dorothy, Glenda, and Em... I really ought to stop getting more rodents every time I go out, huh?

Are you feeding a strictly raw diet?
And are you planning to make them on your own, or buy them?
