more moving Qs (yes, i know.....sorry!)

somegirl Oct 10, 2003 12:26 AM

oi. now im getting out of here either the 14th(what the movers want) or the 15th (what i want). i didnt really think about this earlier, but this means my beardies and leos arent going to be able to eat for 3-4 days. during part of that time i can probably set up their heat lamps and such, but during the driving part im afraid of them pooping and/or not being able to digest because of heat. maybe the stress will kill their appetites plus, salad stuff wont exactly keep well without a fridge and i dont see a good way to travel with crix that long. im worried, especially about kellen, the new one who is only 2.5 inches svl. help!

and reiko, i bought a mesh carrier today for them, just gotta figure out who to put in secure partitians. i got kitchen towels (small and cheap) for each of them and new pillowcases for the snakes. thanks for the idea!

Salad stuff and veggies can be kept in a cooler full of ice, and heat for your reptiles can be provided by chemical heat pads. You know, the kind that has the metal clicker in them that you "recharge" in the microwave? I think you can get them at wal-mart...
Anyway, those wrapped in a towel should do for heat, if you can't run a heat lamp.
And yes, I know dragons like their heat from above, but remember that they get quite a bit of heat from the rocks that the sun is shining on, in the wild. ( Why do y'all think we measure SURFACE TEMPS anyway? )

Hope this helps.
