Molly Good News

carmeny Oct 02, 2006 05:57 PM

Took her to the vet today and she has actually lost 2 pounds since July! Molly and I are very excited since we thought she had gained. Vet is very supportive of her all meat diet and said to continue with her exercise and swimming would be good. He wants to keep an eye on her and have her back in 2 months to check progress - his goal is 10 more pounds but we will settle for 5 for now! Thanks everyone for your advice and we will keep you posted! Her coat is very good so they didn't think a thyroid panel was necessary at this time and the fact that she lost weight. We are going to celebrate with a nice piece of roasted chicken! Thanks again!

home of old lady Lucy (boxer/lab/garbage disposal), pretty girl Fancy (beagle), the rats- Chopin, Tchaikovsky, Pachebel, Fillmore, and Norbert, and the mice- Vivaldi, Brahms, Schubert, Bartok, Rasputin, Chaminade, Rosa, Dorothy, Glenda, and Em... I really ought to stop getting more rodents every time I go out, huh?

Ahh!!! What great news!

I'm happy to hear this part too:
>> Vet is very supportive of her all meat diet and said to continue with her exercise and swimming would be good.

It's wonderful to have a supportive vet.

Thank you! Yes, I really like my vet. He is a farm vet so he deals with alot of big animals too. He is a no-nonsense vet and has never pushed anything on me at all. He has one kind of dog food that he sells and that is it - not like other vets that have walls stocked full of product that they want you to buy. His clinic isn't fancy but we like him. His medications are at least 1/2 the price of the other two vets in town. Sometimes you have to shop around a bit and the clinic was proud of Molly too!
