Please help identify my boy's heritage?

MissingMyBoy Oct 14, 2006 07:47 PM

This is Bart. He passed on September 9, 2006. He was 16 and 1/2 years old. We had him since he was 8 weeks old. Can you please help me identify what breeds were in him? He was 24" tip of nose to base of tail, and about 14" high. His fur was so soft. He was the best little friend I could ever have asked for. I would really like to find out what breedswere in him in hopes of finding one similar to him one day. Thank you for your help. I can email more pics if it will help you identify him.

Shoot! Sorry, can someone tell me how to post a pic in the message?

Upload the photo(s) to the photo album- it's up at the top with the other site feature things. The name of the picture will appear underneath your message. Just click it before you send the message.

home of old lady Lucy (boxer/lab/garbage disposal), pretty girl Fancy (beagle), the rats- Chopin, Tchaikovsky, Pachebel, Fillmore, and Norbert, and the mice- Vivaldi, Brahms, Schubert, Bartok, Rasputin, Johann, Chaminade, Dorothy, Glenda, and Em... I really ought to stop getting more rodents every time I go out, huh?

Here are some instructions that I post on the Shiba Inu forum to help people out. By being a registered member here you have access to a free 10MB photo account here at the DogHobbyist. All you need is to have photos in a folder on your hard drive. Where I have posted Shiba Inu... simply replace that with Mixed Breed.
BTW... I am very sorry for the loss of your Bart.

At the top of the page, Click on Photo Gallery
Scroll down to Shiba Inu. Click.
Find where it says Upload Photo.
If you haven't Logged In you will have to do so first.
Click on Upload Photo.
When the page opens...where it says Choose a category
be sure it says Shiba Inu.
Click on Browse. Find your photo in the dialogue box and click open.
There is also a link to upload multiple pictures if you choose to do so.
Enter a Title for your photo.
Click Upload/Submit.
Do this proceedure for all your photos, you have 10mb of free storage here.
Now go back to the shiba forum. Enter your post as normal, scroll down below the text box to where it says Select Image from Photo Gallery. Use the drop down arrow to find the photo you would like to post, and click on the photo.
You can also hold down your CTRL key and highlite up to three photos to place in a post.
If you would like to title your photos or place a little story about them you can do so easily by copying the URL that is at the bottom of each uploaded picture. To find the url, click to enlarge the picture and you will find the url below the photo. Just copy any or all Urls into Notepad or something similar. When posting pictures using the URL's you will need to add [ IMG ] and [ /IMG ] before and after the url. Please note there should be no spaces in the brackets, that was just for posting purposes.
I would use the Preview feature to be sure your picture(s) loads, once done just click on Post Message.

I copied the Photobucket url by right clicking on your attempt to post a picture and here is Bart. When using a picture from PhotoBucket, just simply copy the url that begins with [IMG] and ends with [ /IMG]. I'll add more instructions for posting here from the PetHobbyist. To me Bart looks like he may have had some Cavalier King Charles in him. For sure Spaniel... maybe some Cocker?

Thank you so much for your instructions and help. I actually cried when I saw the post "Here is Bart". I was thinking maybe he had some King Charles too. We were always confused whether he had Springer or Border Collie in him as he had characteristics of both (at least I thought so). I can try to post more pics if you think it would help. Thank you again, Shboom. It means a lot to me that you would do what you have.

You're very welcome! I know what Bart must have meant to you and again I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm still seeing more Cavalier King Charles with Bart but it's also possible he could be part Border Collie. Perhaps when you have the time you could try putting up a couple more pictures of Bart. If you run into difficulty with the posting of pictures just place another post and I or some of others can help you out. It'll also be good practice when you get your new pup because we will want to see many pictures of him.

Maybe I'm crazy, but I thik he looks like maybe he's part border collie. Spaniel of some sort looks likely as well. He has a very sweet face.
