I just got a 2 year old poddle terrier mix his former owner past away but I'll get down to the point. He is not house trained (or he was but not now) any sugjestion would be helpful thank-you

First. Never punish or hit your dog for making a mistake.

I would start just like if your dog was a pup.
Outside first thing in the morning. Watch and wait until the dog goes before bringing in the house.
Outside after meals and play times.
Pick a word like Potty or Outside every time so that learn that command.
If you are a stay at home caretaker, then for a few days put the dog outside every half hour, just to remind them where they bathroom is.
When cleaning up after dog mistakes, do not use a Windex type product. They have ammonia in them and smell like urine to a dog. Get something from a pet shop for this cleaning up.

If you think the dog has a medical problem with urinating to often check your vet.
