Doberman Growth

sunnyjim Nov 14, 2006 06:35 PM

Hi,

My Dobe is 8 months of age now. I estimate his weight to be approximately 65-70 pounds. He is a male. The last time i weighed him was at approx 6 1/2 months and he was 60 pounds. He has not grown much since then. Does 70 pounds sound right for an 8 month male? What age do they stop growing at? I have heard some people say up to 1 year and others up to 2 years. What age do they stop growing in height? What age do they begin to fill out (and stop filling out) and when do their skulls crack? What age do they stop growing altogether?

Thanks.

lol. FYI, their skull will never 'crack'. That's a horrible and very unintelligent myth.

Your guy sounds about right for his age. They tend to stop growing at about a year and fill out at about 1-1/2 to 2 years.

That is considering he is within breed standards.
