vaccine reaction

ebedeeb Nov 22, 2006 11:05 AM

I have a new 5mth papillon,3.6lbs that when we took for a wellness check the vet administered a DHLP and Rabies. I never considered that there would be a problem. He is very lethargic and only wants to sleep, vet says this is normal. He was happy, perky, great eater etc...for the 2 days that we had him prior to the vaccination. Can you recommend a homeopathic remedy that will help him deal with the reaction he is having? Stool is normal and no vomiting, just refuses to do anything but be held and sleep. thanks

I'd take him to another veterinarian for a second opinion--unless, that is, you need to call your own vet and update him/her that this is still going on. Don't home-treat this. The dog is too small to be delaying treatment if he needs it. Tiny dogs and puppies go down very fast. There is no time to mess around when they are sick.

Have you posted on the "Ask the Holistic Vet" board on this site?

I would highly recommend that you find a homeopathic vet to work with, it's the only way I know to really help with vaccine induced side effects for the long term. Dr. Tobin should be able to recommend a vet in your area.
