Lucy Is A Pig

For supper Lucy got a great big bowl of stuffing, potato salad, stuffed mushrooms, and gravy. She ate every single bite, then she got her very own slice of buttermilk pie. She got the whole slice in her mouth (it was pretty big, too) and obviously reeeeeally liked it. I wish I'd have gotten a video of her eating that pie. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Best not do this on future holidays. Veterinary emergency hospitals are crowded at Thanksgiving with dogs whose people have fed them this way. Dogs can't tolerate the Thanksgiving pig-out like some humans can. Dogs get acute pancreatitis, and it can kill them. Give your dog just a taste. They will enjoy it just as much, and they will live a lot longer.

She didn't get enough to make her sick, she only ate one meal that day and it equaled out to her daily amount since she didn't get breakfast. It was just all in one meal instead of two. Nothing with bones or anything since we're vegetarian. I wouldn't do anything to her that would harm her. She gets to celebrate holidays with the rest of us, safely. I appreciate the concern, but I'd certainly not feed her enough to make her sick. Before she came to us she ate one meal of dry kibble per day, and that's a lot more likely to swell up and cause problems than what we gave her. She's just fine and was more than happy to get her Thanksgiving dinner.
