Ruptured Tympanic Membranes

chevy Nov 29, 2006 07:11 PM

Dr. Tobin, I posted to you once before about chevy's ear's. They were inflamed & extremely waxy. He has since been seen by his Holistic Vet & she say's he has ruptured Tympanic Membrane's in both ears.

I have used Sulphur 30c & it helped with the inflamation, I have also used Causticum 30c & it slowed down the wax, but the wax is bad again. There is not much of an odor to it.

The wax is dark brown & tar like. His entire ear & the hair around it get's coated with it. chevy is a cocker.
You had mentioned Thuja in a previous post before I knew it was ruptured Tympanic membrane's.
Do you still feel Thuja?
Thank you

Ruptured eardrums are usually due to inflammations, and once the inflammation or infection is gone the eardrum repairs itself. Have the holistic vet check the dog's thyroid and correct the levels if needed. Also, crush some garlic in a small amount of olive oil, add some acidophilus and use this in the ears to clean, coat and treat the ears. It would be risky to use anything stronger until the eardrums have healed.

Dr Tobins, should I do the Garlic & olive oil mixture in one step & then the acidophlus & olive oil in another step?

If I mix them all together won't the garlic kill the acidophlus?
Thank you

They should be fine mixed together.
