I don't think the Dogue de Bordeaux is a recognized breed by the AKC but I could be wrong. Also called a French Mastiff. That is my guess.

You have already seen this dogge somewhere else on another forum.... hmmmmmm

Have fun solving the mystery

Shboom Dec 30, 2006 11:05 AM

You are correct... I have seen this dogge in another forum. So my next newest guess will be an Olde English Bulldogge. Not to be confused with the English Bulldog.

LOL!! Does that mean I get to spend it all in one place or spread the wealth? Actually I've never run across an Old English BullDogge, maybe you can post a little bit about Winston on the BullDog board.

Dogue de Bordeaux is my guess. We see them at UKC shows in the area fairly often.

Yes this is definately a Dogue de Bordeaux. That's not the same dogue in both pictures is it?

Actually effective June 2006 AKC has added Dogue de Bordeaux to it's FSS list.

What's the story on these dogs? You just curious what breed they are or do you have one, want one? Just curious.

I own this "dogge" hint. I am curious to see if anyone can figure out what he is. I knew everyone would think he's a french mastiff, thats why I posted here. I didnt know DDBs were joining the AKC, thats interesting. Some things to note when you are looking here is that he has no tail that would be another clue, sorta, another clue: this breed was made with bull mastiffs, in the creation of this CKC registerable rare bully breed. Thats about all the hints I can give. Both of those pics are of the same dogge. Right now my boy is 90 lbs and 11 months old he is still trying to grow into his huge head. He wont truly arrive until he fills out at around 2 1/2 yrs old and probably around 120 lbs.

Not sure what breed this dog is, but in answer to the Bordeaux/french mastiff. Yes they are an AKC breed, registered with FSS and started showing in AKC July 2006 in the Misc class.
