Driving me bonkers!

Okay, WHY do dogs want to go out so frequently when it rains? Or more specifically...my dog. My WHITE dog? In the rain pouring on the RED DIRT?

Friday it POURED...and Athena, no lie, when out 6 times in a 4hr period. Yes, she did business each time...but it required walking for at least a 15minute period...and her getting SOAKED to the bone wet. Then a 5minute dry off. She went out so often, I ran out of towels to use. I walked in different places, fell down an incline on the golf course. Kissed pavement on a hill. I even SAT once on a bench & let her run the length of the flexi. But it WAS NOT ENOUGH.

I know she missed her bath this Thursday...but I don't think this counts. I'm actually secretly glad I didn't take her to the doggie spa b/c it would have been an exercise in even MORE frustration on Friday to have her get so filthy in the rain.

If she does this again, I'm wrapping her in Saran Wrap.

Can't say I have that problem. My breed HATES the rain so they look at me like I turned the hose on them. Think your dog would wear a rain coat?

That rain coat idea is a pretty good one! But I don't think Athena would fall for it.

That & drag that bench to our side of the street so I can be lazy & sit there while Athena runs her lead if she HAS to go out so frequently!

I think as she's getting older, the rain is making her "achy" and she needs to get out & stretch her legs to feel a bit better. I'm going to count my blessings we don't have cold and/or snow so far this year!

Boy, isn't that the truth, Athena? I'm counting my blessings as well. It's kind of like waiting for the other shoe to drop. One of these days I'm afraid that we're going to get clobbered.

Belle hates the rain...but LOVES the cold weather! We dipped down below 40 here tonight which is cold for us..and she was acting like a puppy on our walk!
Jiggs on the other hand, does not care what the weather is like...he's the same..rainy, windy, cold, hot...he's always rarin' to go! AND..believe me...he always has to GO!

I'm not a fan of going out in the rain, either, but one good point is that my dog makes sure I get plenty of exercise--even in bad weather!

Thank goodness, my shih tuz, Katie hates the rain, Athena. LOL If it's pouring, I have to carry her out and plunk her down where I think she'll go. She usually goes quickly because she doesn't want to get wet and then heads back to the door as quickly as she can. Now snow is a different matter. She seems to like to dig and investigate that.

Funny picture! She doesn't mind wearing a hat?!

Nah, I started her early with this nonsense and she tolerates pretty much anything for a time. I can almost hear her saying, "Here she goes again with this silly stuff." LOL

Mine wouldn't fall for it either, but hey some dogs do. LOL! Good luck- at least it's not too cold out where you are. Right now I'd take rain over snow.

My three dogs(not Dals) have different styles when it comes to being in the rain. My one male will go outside anytime any weather and just plow through it. The other one is a little more reluctant and won't leave the deck, while my female is a little more dainty and hates to get her paws dirty. She is a riot to watch as she prances on the very edge of the fence to stay in the grass and takes great pains to walk in the mulch where it's convenient! lol

I'm so glad I'm not the only one going a bit bezerk over the "foul weather habits" of my dog!

No matter the breed, they all have their moments!
