Hi,

I have a Sable Sheltie that is 11 months old. I had her weighed the other day at the vet's office. She weighed 10lbs, 8 ounces. The vet said that she is one of the smallest Shelties that he has seen. She is an inside dog that is "Queen" of the house. She is our "10 pound German Sheperd". She is very protective of the house and of us. We had a Sheltie before that was very mild-mannered and quiet. This one likes to bark and is strong-willed. She is very intelligent. Can someone help me with picture posting?

Thanks

Hi and welcome to the DogHobbyist! I don't have a Sheltie but I think they are just a great looking dog. Posting pictures is relatively easy. All you need is to have the pictures in a folder on your hard drive. Being a registered member you have access to a free 10mb photo account right here at the DogHobbyist. The Sheltie hasn't got it's own breed category but you can still post pictures in the Member's Gallery and post them from there. First click on the link that says Photo Gallery up above the message area. When the home page opens you must first register your account. Now here are some instructions I use for the Shiba Inu board. Just substitute Member Gallery where I have written Shiba Inu. If you have any questions please ask. I can't wait to see your little girl... here are the instructions.

At the top of the page, Click on Photo Gallery
Scroll down to Shiba Inu. Click.
Find where it says Upload Photo.
If you haven't Logged In you will have to do so first.
Click on Upload Photo.
When the page opens...where it says Choose a category
be sure it says Shiba Inu.
Click on Browse. Find your photo in the dialogue box and click open.
There is also a link to upload multiple pictures if you choose to do so.
Enter a Title for your photo.
Click Upload/Submit.
Do this proceedure for all your photos, you have 10mb of free storage here.
Now go back to the shiba forum. Enter your post as normal, scroll down below the text box to where it says Select Image from Photo Gallery. Use the drop down arrow to find the photo you would like to post, and click on the photo.
You can also hold down your CTRL key and highlite up to three photos to place in a post.
If you would like to title your photos or place a little story about them you can do so easily by copying the URL that is at the bottom of each uploaded picture. To find the url, click to enlarge the picture and you will find the url below the photo. Just copy any or all Urls into Notepad or something similar. When posting pictures using the URL's you will need to add [ IMG ] and [ /IMG ] before and after the url. Please note there should be no spaces in the brackets, that was just for posting purposes.
I would use the Preview feature to be sure your picture(s) loads, once done just click on Post Message.

I knew Bob would come to the rescue to explain how to post pictures! We're looking forward to seeing pictures of your pup. I have a friend whose sheltie was very, very vocal. A guard dog indeed! Welcome to the forum.

Welcome! It's good to see a sheltie owner posting!

I've seen 10 lb shelties- they are tiny. I'm sure picutre posting was taken care of in the other post, so I'm just writing to say welcome and tell us more about your little girl.

Hi,
Great to see you here. I have a Shih Tzu named Katie but my uncle had a Sheltie named Laddie. He was a beautiful dog and very friendly. Pull up a crate and make yourself at home. Can't wait to see pictures.

Thanks for the posts! I will try to get a few pics posted this weekend. My Sheltie's name is "Sadie". She is standing by me right now giving me a sleepy stare. I think she's telling me it's time to go to bed. She is just like a little kid. She even has her own toy box (very spoiled dog). She drags all of the toys out just like a little kid too. My wife swore that she would never get attached to or even bring in another dog after our first Sheltie passed away. It took 4 years, but I finally convinced her to get another one. She took right up with Sadie. Sadie is very close to her. It's funny how someone who at first doesn't want anything to do with a dog, becomes the one who is closest to the dog. There is a tight bond between them.
