Tick Bite Location

TeamGenji Jan 18, 2007 10:03 AM

I found a tick attached on one of our dogs' head about a month ago. (I couldn't believe that I found a tick in December!) The bite area always gets reddish and a bit lumpy after pulling a tick off from the dogs, and the same thing happened when I got rid of the the tick on her head. But this time the tiny lump (about 2mm) won't go away. Should I do something about this? Thank you very much for your help.

The lump is likely scar tissue from the tickbite. Even though it has been a month, it will eventually go down.

My dog Molly had the same thing on her side. The lump has never gone away but the vet says she is fine - he said if it bothered her - he could remove it for now it is okay. She has had the lump for about 4-5 years.
