Hi...I have a 1 yr. old Shih Tzu who has been vomiting bile every morning. I took him to the vet and they ran a full blood panel and everything came back normal. He also had a stool sample tested and that too was negative for anything. The vet recommended a food trial switch to Natural Balance venision and brown rice and feeding a small meal before bedtime in addition to his other 2 meals a day. I fed him a small meal before bed last night and still woke up to a bile vomit this morning. Sometimes he even will vomit bile around 3-4pm when it is getting close to dinner time. He is 18.6#'s and eats 1 1/2 cups of food total per day. He isn't overweight though. He gets no treats or people food either. What else can we do to get this problem under control? I feel terrible for him!

Some dogs will vomit on an empty stomach. You might try feeding him 3 times a day, including just before going to bed. If that is no help, try feeding him fresh meat and stopping the dry food for several days.
