so not only dig i get one, i now have THREE!!! help me! no, really we're okay, it just seems like an awful lot of little people sometimes. i got gwylan, my little brilliant bloo pwincess, and she's now about 6 months old, and one of my clients met her, fell in love, and went up to michigan to get her littermate. then i took on an ALLEGED italian greyhound that was rescued from a puppy mill in missouri. i say 'alleged' because she is soooooo freakin' tiny, has a kinda apply head, buggy eyes, and stand up ears...i really think those jerks mixed in chihuahua somewhere along the line to small them down. anyway, so i have this poor little 'chiggy', and i'm fostering her, bringing her to daycare and just generally teaching her how to be a dog. she's doing pretty darn well, by the way. found her bark, doesn't do the crazy circles as much, eats like a draft horse, and is now confident enough that i've actually seen her try to dominate gwyllie. then i'm hearing the folks that got mia, gwylan's littermate freaking out about house training her. now we all read up on how difficult it is to train them. little dog = little bladder, etc. they're expecting and now it's become imperative that they rehome mia! they even called the rescue rep in ohio that was one of the people that wouldn't let me adopt an iggy because i have greyhounds - that was the last straw. i didn't want mia put in a rescue situation that would keep her from playing crazy at daycare, and being comfortable with big and little dogs and people that she knows. so - as of monday - she became part of our family. sheesh. i now am the proud mommy of 3 retired racers, 2 iggies, 4 birds, 2 sugar gliders, a guinea pig, a foster iggie, and a seventeen year old human. my friends are starting to call me a hoarder! it's pure insanity at home, and a never ending cycle of cleaning and feeding, and standing in the snow in your jammies at 5 a.m. to get everybody doing their thing outside...but you know what? when it's late at night, and all the birds, are either in their houses, or snuggied up on my neck, and the dogs are draped over chairs and beds in front of the fire place....it's great. it's all worth it.
now everybody - quickly! go beat up all the puppy millers you can find, and foster an iggster!!! they're small - take two!
