Can you explain a little better on how Cora came to be paralyzed? I don't know what area of the country you live in but is there any chance of there being a School of Veterinarian Medicine near you that you can have Cora evaluated at? These schools are on the cutting edge of technology and are far better equipped to make judgment calls than an everyday veterinarian. Being paralyzed doesn't necessarily mean that the dog would have to be euthanized as there are devices that can help her to get around. The problem is you have to determine the quality of life for Cora. If she is losing control the nerve damage may be significantly getting worse. These are always difficult decisions because you are making the decisions for Cora. We always have to think what is right for the dog and not what is right for our hearts. Good Luck to you and to little Cora.

I was in Poland during the summer at the time this had happened and my parents didn't inform me till i arrived home and all they said was that one night they just went to their kettle and the next morning she just was draging her bottom, thats most of what i know and that she had surgery on her back though i don't think it worked. Now 5 months later she has a bacteria in her bladder and my mother does not remember the name of this bacteria but it could get worse and my dogs urine is starting to smell but we are empying her bladder about three times daily. We do not have a school of vetenarian medicine around but i'll double check that to make sure. Please comment me back i'll try to get more information about what is happeneing with my dog if i need to do that. And thank you

Is your dog currently under veterinary care and anti-biotics for the bacteria in the bladder? I'm just wondering if this is related to the paralysis or possibly a urinary tract infection? If your girl had back surgery what was the veterinary diagnosis for the cause of the injury? I know I'm asking a lot of questions but the more information we have the better we may be able to help. I should caution though that any opinion here cannot replace the hands on experience that a veterinarian could provide for your girl.

Is she hurting? If it's just a bladder problem you can just get her some panties. They make them for dogs with bladder problems. If she is hurting you could always see about pain medication that won't knock her out. If she's still happy, even if she's in pain, she could stick around a long time. Animals are just as capable of being happy despite pain as humans are. I hope you figure something out.
