Grinding teeth

MyDiamond Jan 28, 2007 09:06 AM

I recently adopted a dog from an animal shelter, and noticed that he grinds his teeth...now I have noticed that the only times he does this is at night when he is told to go back to bed and is restless or bored.

I tried to find out more about this on the internet but the only thing I could find out was that when dogs are chained up all the time they sometimes take to grinding their teeth from stress or bordem. His teeth are quite worn down, and I do believe that he probably was chained or kenneled(at least) at his old home, just guessing from the signs(his elbows are worn too). But just wondering if their is any other information/reasons for teeth grinding - Thanks

This sounds like a habit he developed out of boredom.
