Peeing everywhere!

My min pin is 4 years old, we've moved 4 times in his lifetime, he had a big problem going in the house at the first house I lived in, now the last one we currently live in, we've been here for a year and a half, now he has picked a place in the living room where he always goes!!! we tried blocking it off with baby gates but he will instead go in this other room. We have another min pin of the same age, both are males and were neutered as puppies. The other does not do this... They know the term "wanna go outside?" but this one will leave "spots" about the size of tennis balls here and there....and hes ruined the carpet, and it has caused the house to smell like urine...we can clean it real good, but it stains and still leaves smells, but if we lock him in the room with another member of the family overnight, he won't do this but if we are upstairs and he's downstairs he'll go....what can I do???

If you clean the place up and you still smell it, the dog can easily still smell it and that just makes it seem like an appropriate place to have an accident again. You need an enzyme cleaner (Nature's Miracle or similar) and with an old stain you'll have to treat it numerous times to really get the odors out. Once FULLY cleaned up the problem should go away, but if it's become habit, it may not. Remove access from that area for 3 weeks or so after it's cleaned up and see if you break the cycle that way. Also, a trip to the vet may not be a bad idea to rule out bladder or kidney issues.

I agree with Chelle. Nature's Miracle was my best friend when my Katie was a pup. LOL
