Hi, I am Roger, and I am new in this forum. I wonder if any one can help me with my curiosity about my puppy.
My puppy Kiara (31/2 months old) looks very much like GSD which is golden in color and I would like to know what breed is she. I dont have a photo of her yet but I saw a photo in the net which looks very much like her. Please tell me if she is pure breed or mix. Thanks

Looks like perhaps a mix or a sable-colored GSD. You may have people tell you she's a Malinois, but I don't think that is the case. The structure doesn't fit Malinois. But police breedings are doing a lot of mixes, including GSD/Malinois, and they can look like this. Also, GSD mixes are very, very common. Especially the intact male GSDs will jump fences, wander, and impregnate female dogs in heat they encounter if they are not properly managed. And there are so MANY GSDs that the odds are high of such mixes. Same with Labradors, but those mixes are more likely to be black. Not always.

If you train the dog like a GSD and do a good job of it, you'll likely do fine. GSD trainability is very prepotent unless mixed with something very anti-training or wild!

Thanks KDiamond for your reply. So you think she is a mix between 2 or more types of GSD? She has all the features of a GSD and I am glad to say that she is quite easy to train, but very naughty. She messed up all my plants and other stuffs. Is it a good idea to let her loose all the time? I mean, letting her loose inside my house compound without any restriction. I don't keep her in the house at all, she always sleeps at my front door which is dry and cool. Once again thanks very much for your info.

I'm not sure what you mean by house compound. I would keep in the house in a crate while your not home, or in safe kennel outside.
When you are home I would keep her in the house with you unless she needs to go the bathroom. Than I would bring her out. Also, supervised play outside would be great for her.

By the house compound, I meant the area surrounding my house which is fenced all round with my garden and a car porch in it. This area is free for her to sleep, run, play with my other two dogs. She always goes to a corner of the garden for her toilet business, the same as my other two. She has never been in a kennel before and I don't intend to put her in it unless necessary. I would bring her to a small park (12minutes walk away) whenever time and weather permits and she would jog with me or my children and then we rest and play at the playground for about 10 minutes before we walk home. She is so happy to be with children at the playground. Do you think I am doing the right thing?
