Have researched alot of different sites and have been unable to find a real difference, seems that the Europeans call them British but here in the States they call them English.. Just another name for the same breed? Thx in advance,

I believe they are the same. The American Bulldog, on the other hand, is completely different, as is the French Bulldog.

There is also another breed called an Olde English Bulldogge that is confused with the English Bulldog, they are two different breeds. To read a discussion of such please check the Mastiff board as we thought this dog at first was a Dogue de Borduex

I forgot to mention that the Bulldog breed you are referring to is actually registered in the USA with the American Kennel Club as "Bulldog," without either English or British attached to the name. We use "English Bulldog" colloquially because it is vitally important to distinguish this breed from the American Bulldog. Health and behavior of those two breeds could not be more different. In the USA we tend to use the term "English" more than we use the term "British," in general. I'm not even sure what the difference in meaning would be, if any. You could check the UKC and see what breed name they use for the AKC Bulldog breed.
