Potassium Lactate & Rosemary

ValerieWashburn Feb 13, 2007 02:36 PM

Purdue ground chicken is adding this to their ground chicken. Its supposed to extend shelf life but it is also making my Lhasa Apso drink allot more water. When I rescued him he had just had bladder stones removed so I wonder if this is such a bad thing? Any proplem with daily doses of Rosemary the herb and potassium Lactate in his ground chicken?

Valerie

When you buy meat, you probably prefer to get pure fresh meat. These additives help keep the meat longer, but that means it is no longer really fresh. However, these additives don't cause any problems, as far as I know.
