TV Watching Aussie

d_rose Feb 14, 2007 12:07 AM

Not sure what the "experts" say about the ability of dogs to watch TV but Fisher is freakishly, keenly aware of dogs, cats, horses, and especially Tigers/Lions on the TV.

The other night while spending an evening watching a nature show Fisher absolutely lost his marbles while watching an Indian Tiger staulk toward the camera in slow motion. It's been a long time since I've seen his teeth out and ears down ready to throw down! It took my wife and I nearly 10 minutes to calm him down. The funny little dude was undoubtedly protecting us from that mean Tiger!

The older he gets, it seems, the more quirky and interesting his personality becomes.

Here is a recent picture of him running wild on the Skykomish River near Monroe, Washington. No Steelhead this day but lots of fun running miles of river bank inspecting and smelling every inch of the surrounding woods.

Take care.

Dylan,
My Beagle, Chipper use to love to watch TV but my Shih Tzu, Katie shows no interest in it. I guess it depends on the dog. Does Fisher like watching particular types of shows or does he like all shows? Fisher sure is a beautiful dog...love that picture of him at the river's edge.

Thanks! He mostly becomes interested anytime animals are on. When I notice him eyeing the TV while we are watching, I'll turn it to Animal Planet and hope that a dog, cat, monkey, horse, etc... are on, and he immediately will jump up ears perked and sometimes walk over to the TV for a closer look/smell. It's really hilarious. Take care and good luck!

I don't care what the experts say either, sometimes my dogs don't listen to them and just do what they want to do. You've got an awesome companion with Fisher. Enjoy.
