Play fetch with my BC.

crystal2007 Feb 24, 2007 06:52 PM

Hi,
I'm playing fetch with my 2 month old BC and she doesn't like to stay beside me before I throw the ball. She stays a distance like she is herding the ball (staring with her head lowered). I am trying to teach her to stay by my side and then I will throw the ball with the help of some treats. Does it really matter?
Can I use both methods? She always comes back with the ball regardless. Please comment.

I don't think it matters where your dog is when you throw the ball unless you want it to matter. I personally don't throw a ball for my dogs if they are rushing me and being obnoxious. I don' twant to reward obnoxious behavior. If you want to, you can mix things up and "send" her further away on a command and the nbring her in closer on a different command. It's your call. Either way, just have fun.
