I had posted something earlier about emma being sick after her spaying operation. she has stopped vomitting and her bowel movements are back to normal. but she is licking her incision. I looked and it was a little red yesterday so I phoned my vet which is 1/2 away (we live in a small city in the country). she said to bring her in thursday or friday for them to look at it. we had a huge snowstorm and since we live in the country it took all afternoon for my husband to clear the yard so we could get out! so we didn't get there yesterday. today i phone because it has gotten a little worse and with it being the weekend (and all vets are closed in our area on the weekend) i phoned to take her in. all the vets are gone until monday (something they could have told me yesterday!). so i phoned another clinic and they acted like they didn't really want to see her. they kept asking me where my vet was and was i sure they weren't around this weekend, etc. so i am very frustrated and just needed to vent i suppose! Mojo (her dog sister) is doing just fine after spaying. so i will take emma in this afternoon and hopefully she will at least get some medication as i think it is infected. with 7 dogs, 5 cats and 6 birds i think i missed my calling i should have been a vet!

I get so frustrated! spaying infection

Go ahead and Vent!! Totally understand how frustrating situations like that can be.
Please post again and tell us what happened.

so emma went to the vet (my usual vet) on the monday and got antibiotics - they only charged me $4.97 for the antibiotics. it is never the money really, just the point. so that was last monday and she looks good. actually after the first day of being on the pills she stopped licking and it got a lot better! so all is well with my little girl!

Awwwww, that's wonderful news. Glad it turned out well for your little girl.
