Hi my name is David and I am on the Shiba forum. A good friend of mine was contacted about finding a home for a GSD. Below is the e-mail about her and her picture. If anyone is interested please send me an e-mail and I will put you in contact with them. The GSD is in Laconia NH.
I took in a 45 pound female 1-2 year old black and tan German Shep that has been bumped around a few times in her short life. She was origionally shipped up from Indiana through a GSD rescue and found herself at the Laconia NH shelter. She was temporily foster/ adopted by one of the shelter employees but that didn't work out either. Now she is living with me. She is recieving tons of structure.. which she hasn't ever had before and tons of socialization. She bonds up very strongly with one person and if left to her own decisions, will choose to protect that person and herself from everyone else. I have not let her do this, and she is doing well adjusting. Jeremy is trying very hard to get her to accept him... which some days she does great and other days she still barks at him. Both Jeremy and I have pushed this dog far beyond what a normal person would do and she is NOT A BITER. She has been up in the house when the kids are over and has don e fine. She gets along great with all the dogs. She is a bit intense with the cats but has been nose to nose and hasn't done anything to them. She is doing great on housebreaking....with no accidents since the first day. She doesn't really love her crate but has also gotten more accepting of that too. We have taken trips out to do lessons which she has done wonderful at, and we even attempted petsmart last week . She handled the auto doors, slippery floors, barking dogs and screaming kids like a pro. She has also learned that strangers have cookies and she is starting to investigate new people on her own in hopes of another cookie. She has put on a much needed 5 pounds since I took her and is looking better. We have finally learned how to play with a tennis ball this week.
Ok.. so after saying all that.... know anyone who would be interested?
Perfect home for this girl...lets see...
Women are easier then men.. but I am def willing to work with any man who can be patient with her.
I think a house with another dog would be nice for companionship.
Cats.... not out of the question .but prob better without.
A strong active person who can work this dog and give her the excercise and mental stimulation she needs to be successful! Someone who likes to walk on a daily basis? She is amazingly agile and would excel at agilty. She also has the capabilities of being a good working dog if anyone wanted a challenge...she is doing well with obedience so far.
Well.. let me know.. I'm still working with her everyday and not in a huge rush to get her placed.. but I thought I would get her mug shot out there for people to start thinking about.
