Long time lover, hoping to become a first time owner of a whippet, in the next few years. Anyone have any ideas and comments for me. Some advice perhaps. I love to watch them run, its like nothing I've ever seen before in my life . I'm hoping to purchase a puppy, but a young adult and adult are awesome as well. I have never owned any sighthouds before, but I absolutely love the whippets personality, one minute there a bullet being shot out of a gun, and the next there a sleeping toddler lol. Not too mention there stunning good looks.

Hi and welcome to the DogHobbyist! I'm not all that familiar with Whippets but do think they are graceful looking dogs. What I do know about them is being a sighthound and as such I would never trust them off leash since they would just run and run. They are also very quick. Vivi the missing Whippet in NYC is a classic example. I would just say to continue to ask questions and doing your research and when you get your dog we would love to hear all about him.
