This is sort of off-topic, but with shedding season in full bloom, our Sibe is doing her bi-annual right of passage and we are vacuming at least once a day. Well, we have just broken our fourth Bissel Vacum and are very frustrated. They replaced one for us at no cost in the past, but I don't think they will again. We aren't sure if this is a result of the massive amount of hair or not, but we can't think of any alternative. We have a bagless vacum and obviously are not happy at all with it. Can anyone advise on what vacum you use during heavy Sibe shedding season and how the performance has been?

I have a really old Kirby I use for this time of year. It's the only thing that's worked for me and I found it at a garage sale 2 years ago. Best $50 I ever spent!

Having three Shiba Inu's we are sort of related... dogwise that is! Having three coat blowing dogs can be a daunting task to keep the rugs from looking like barber shop floor. We have a Dyson Animal that works really well... it was also very expensive. Having said that it is a well built machine. I'm not saying it's the most powerful cleaner out there but it doesn't lose any power either as you use it. It does a great job keeping up with the dogs. There was a discussion about this a while back on the Shiba board. A variety of cleaners were discussed and I think the Hoover WindTunnel ranked pretty good with a couple of the Shiba people.

Best vacuum I ever had or tried. I have 2 huskies, my big male hasnt started blowing his undercoat yet, the little guy is too young so far.
Also once a week the big guy gets his undercoat rake a good workout, never agin use a brush, they suck with huskies.
