Dogs and SOS pads

carmeny Apr 04, 2007 12:06 AM

We are currently renovating our kitchen. The cupboard doors are off. I came home tonight and found a small box of SOS pads ripped up all over the kitchen floor (about 5 of them). Most of them appeared to be ripped up but for the most part whole (I think!). As i have 5 of the little monsters in the house I have no idea who did it. I checked all their teeth for blue or little wires but cannot see anything. I was trying to search online for this and didn't find much except that some dogs had eaten them and then pooped them out. My main concern - other than they are made of steel wool is the detergent in them. Of course if i notice anything out of the ordinary they are going to the vet immediately. but has this happened to anyone else?

If the box the soap pads came in is still intact I would check that for an 800 number to call and ask a company representative.

This may be a valuable lesson to anyone who reads this post to empty the cupboards when doing renovations of this type. I know I keep a lot of cleaning supplys under the sink as well that I wouldn't want them getting into.

all dogs are ok today. no vomit or any abnormal behavior so i think they just ripped them apart and did not eat much. but you are right, all things under the sink are being moved! i think it was my one big dog who loves cardboard so i think he may have been more going after the box and then who knows what happened.
