My little boy had the most gorgeous hair. I took him in to be groomed for the first time and to have them just scissor the back a bit. He now looks like a miniature chow. I kid you not I have had several people ask me if that is what he is. Any ideas how long it will take to get his long hair back?

UGH! I'm so Sorry- you are going to have to wait for the next coat blow to get the guard hairs back. That could be up to 6 months depending on when in the cycle this happened- maybe longer because the guard hairs stay longer than the undercoat. Groomer not all that familiar with double coated breeds huh? I'm sorry- they should have known. I'm sorry- hopefully it comes back soon.
