What do you think?

kamakahi Apr 15, 2007 11:51 AM

I have purchased two huskies from a breeder in North Carolina. This is a picture I have received from the breeder. One of the dogs looks a bit strange, but the other looks pretty good. They are from the same litter, and they are both AKC registered. In your opinion, what do you think is going on with the first pup, if anything?

I'm not an expert on Sibes but I don't know if I'm seeing anything out of the ordinary with any of the pups. As for the first pup at the top, I just think it's a bad photo. The same pup looks like it's in the middle photo and the last photo is just a better one of the other pup. If you're still concerned I would ask the breeder to send you another photo of the one pup, maybe when he is a little more active.

Thanks for the reply. I'm going to ask the breeder for another picture. I'm getting them in a week, and I can hardly wait.

If you are having doubts about one of the puppies- why get it? I'm playing "Devil's Advocate" here a bit and not trying to start a fight. Besides, raising litter mates is an incredibly tough thing to do.

Make sure to get all the vet work ups on both pups sent to you and ask the breeder outright if there's been anything different with this puppy.

I think you could probly find a better breeder, a good breeder will not sell 2 pups to one home as the pups are likely to bond closely to eachother and not to their people,l especially breeds with an independant nature such as sibes.

as for the pup you are conserned about, if you cannot go see them in person I would not get it, the breeder can lie about its condition and you could get an unhealthy pup, if you can see it in person, have someone you can trust go with you that has ALOT of puppy experience and can tell if s/he is sickly.

Why are you buying 3 or 4 at a time anyway? Are you going into racing? You better spay/neuter them as they shouldn't mate with each other.

Good luck... you're going to have your hands full!
