Frequent urination with my Jack Russell

doggieb Apr 15, 2007 07:22 PM

I have a 2 year old JRT that has always been in good health. About 3 weeks ago she began to urinate every few minutes. I was worried because she had been on the Nutro recalled food.

I took her to the ER and they said she had a uti and they put her
on antibiotics. This did not work and so I took her to our regular vet, they did all kinds of test's and can't find anything wrong with her. They even went as far as to tell me it may be
behavioral. I rarely see my dog drink and I tried to explain that
she had urinated 14 times in less than 2 hours, this is not normal.

I am very worried and frustrated, I am going to call a specialist
tomorrow but wondered if anyone else has had this problem with
their JRT.

I'm sorry to hear about the problem you're having with your Jack Russell. I have a Shih Tzu but have never had that problem with her. Taking her to a specialist sounds like a good idea. Please let us know what the specialist has to say. Hope that they can find the cause of the problem.

My JRT, has a Tendacy to do that not quiet as frequently but, still he has problems where if he's Really happy (not that it takes much with a JRT) he will all of the sudden leak I don't want to say pees all over the place but will go about a table spoon or two his is 100% behavioral, like the other night he was naughty and when I went to pick up the toy he had demolished on the Bed he peed all over it.
When you had your's on Antibiotics did you also do probiotics to prevent a yeast infection?

good luck!!!
