I got a 7 week old doberman and I'm feeding him puppy chow from purina, I know it's not the highest grade, so I was wondering what do you feed your puppy and what would you suggest the highest grade food for my puppy?
Thanks Much!!

I personally don't feed puppy food to my dogs. For my breed, the odd growth spurts can cause some serious orthapedic issues.
Finding a decent brand of kibble is kind of the $10M question right now. Here's a link that might prove useful for finding the right food for your puppy:

I can't stress it enough. Get your dog on a raw diet. It's paid off dearly for my guy. No commercial pet food recall scares or anything. Do some research on raw food for dogs. It's the best for them.
Generally any food that you don't buy in supermarket is a little more high end. Your vet could recommend a high grade puppy food or may even carry one for you to buy. Usually the rule of thumb is to keep a pup on puppy food for a year. If you do change the food, do it in moderation over the period of a couple of weeks. Start by using the old food with just a small amount of the new food mixed in. Slowly add more of the new food each time while reducing the amount of old food until the changeover has completely taken place.
