Hi I adopted a puppy coonhound from the local shelter. She has been with me for about a month. She had all her shots including the kennel cough and we took her to our vet to get checked on. THey said everything was great. She did get weened from her mom to early though. She started coughing last week though kind of like a hacking going to throw up sound, she does it allot when she gets excited. But she also started throwing up in the mornings usually twice and then she falls asleep. She also sleeps alot everyone keeps saying she is a puppy but I have never had a puppy who slept so much. But she is active when she is up and jumps and runs and likes to be outside. He stool is good and blood free. Does anyone know what this could be??

It might be worth taking your pup to your vet for a complete physical exam. The cough could be from a variety of reasons including damage to the trachea or a heart mumur. Had she completed all of her puppy shots or has she been in areas where other dogs have been hanging out? Is she still on a puppy diet?
