My three year old dachsund mix Rascal was coughing up mucus for the last two days and also started to limp occasionally when walking -- yesterday noticed that he would start to walk and then all of a sudden his back would hunch up bringing up his front paws in an almost begging position and then he would lean over on his side and lay down -- took him to the vet this morning - took xrays - he seems to have pneoumonia and was put on an antibiotic dioxycycline 100mg 2pills twice daily - vet wasn't sure where the loss of movement in his legs fit in to this and mentioned that it might be some sort of lyme disease and is going to do bloodwork -- he also had a temp of 103 this morning -- took two pill today so far and seems to be a little better == hasn't coughed up mucus today - however it still is drooling from the sides of his mouth - temp is also down
